Warp Speed

Zoe is changing fast, lightning fast. New things for Zoe are:
  • She's fulling weaned and never even really noticed (that stung a little, but I got over it)
  • is wearing size 3 diapers (that are made for moving!)
  • dances (see video, it'll give you a good laugh)
  • stood by herself, just decided to try no hands and stood there for at least 5 seconds and has done it probably 5 or 6 times since.
  • can crawl out the screen door
  • can crawl to the kitchen from the living room
  • can crawl to get Hurley (poor Hurley, he's such a good boy)
  • Wants Hurley's toys more than her own, and can get them
  • pulls up on everything possible to stand
  • unless she's REALLY tired, will crawl and walk around her crib before going to sleep
  • Can get the spoon to her mouth pretty successfully when she's eating
  • Can almost drink from a bottle and sippy cup by herself (she can do it if she's reclined, we're working on drinking when not reclined)
  • When she hears a bird or a plane she looks up in the sky
  • Her vocabulary includes: Zoe, Hurley, food, water, all done, kiss....we're working on wave, clap, mama and dada.
  • she has a blanky that if you give it to her, she automatically sucks her fingers and chills out....love it! She gently brushes the silky edge over her check....sounds vaguely familiar (Roge`!)
3 and 1/2 weeks ago, I wondered if she was going to crawl anytime soon....she showed me. Guess she doesn't need a lot of progression time, when she's ready, she does it (kind of like mommy). I am loving the stage she's in, she is becoming a little person. It's more work, but even more rewarding. Motherhood is the best!

Hurley is giving Zoe a lesson on how to get out the screen door.

Hurley: You grab on to one of the edges where the split it.....
Zoe: "Kay, got it, keep going....

Hurley: Now just swing it open and crawl through, simple.
Zoe: Not so simple, but I'll give it a go!

DADDY'S HOME!!!! What a homecoming greeting! Who wouldn't want to rush home to this?

Photo shoot with my main subject......Super, duper baby Zoe!

......ffffffaaaaaaaaaaaalllllling....

Hurley is the new main attraction for Zoe. She's always been very excited about Hurley, but now she can go to him! She'll be across the room and spy Hurley in his bed.....and she's off! Hurley is such a good boy, he has not once growled and she's grabbed him so hard he squeals, ooops sorry Hurley. They are becoming quite the duo.

Hurley has been spotted....

.....she's off.....

.....ham it up for the camera on my way....

.....staying focused....

.....target in reach.....

....just one more lunge.....

.....tag!!!!

ummm....sooo.....what should we do now?

climbing....on EVERYTHING!

Water Park
I can't even explain how bad Zoe kicked out butts at the water slides.....she hadn't napped properly in the morning and stimulated by people and water at the water park resulted in a very upset baby. Both John and I went down the slides twice, making each trip down the slide $10. We packed it up, went home, put Zoe down for a nap, sat on the couch and drank a beer.

Zoe's newest, cutest thing: DANCING!

We are headed to Boston next week. I think we're both a little apprehensive (well, John more than me) about flying with Zoe, but super excited for Baba and Gigi to see their granddaughter and how much she has grown and changed since 4 months old (it's like she's another baby all together!).

Our birthing educator posted Zoe's birth story on her blog. Check it out at http://slolaboroflovedoula.blogspot.com/2010/08/breech-birth-making-choice-for-cesarean.html
