Planning to do anything is a joke. I'll plan, not knowing when she'll need to nap that day and what do you know? Right when I'm due to leave the house she's ready to sleep, poop, or eat. I swear, it's pretty much like clockwork. So how is it that she can so predictably work against my schedule, but I can't seem to work with hers?
Can you tell I'm a little frustrated by it? I woke up at 6am this morning all ready to go off and meet a friend for a run at 7am. Zoe got up a little earlier than normal, nursed, pooped, ate and then was ready for bed, right when I was ready to go. Two hours later (don't get me wrong, I'm usually thrilled about a 2 hour nap), I'm still in my running clothes and my slippers waiting for that run and feeling a LOT less motivated to do it and no partner to go with (but a two hour nap when I really need to get out for a run! Come on, throw me a bone!). I know it'll pass, in the grand scheme of father time, this is just a blip, but I'm looking forward to being able to schedule things without the second guessing and constant worry that I will be late, or not be able to make it at all because Zoe has other plans.
On a positive note, I will say that I am very lucky to have a baby who sleeps as well as she does. She sleeps 11 hours (usually) straight each night, she takes 3 naps that are all over an hour long (usually one that is at least 2 hours), and she goes down for naps and to bed for the night very easily. So in all reality, I'll take the problem I've got over a baby who never sleeps!
Sigh....Oh look, the monitor just flickered, Zoe is rousing....time for that run?
