2 months old

A few Zoe facts...
  • Her eyes are turning brown and when she looks at you it's like she's looking into your soul
  • She has dark, long eyelashes, ones that make me a little jealous.
  • Her smile melts me...every time
  • She can find just the right times to smile sometimes...like when she's up, again, at night after only an hour and 1/2 then just bobs around on the boob. Meanwhile I'm thinking, "OK get on with it or I'm closing up shop." Then she looks at me and we have a smile-fest! OK....take your time love :)
  • She is now seeing toys and batting at them. It's nice to see her looking at and starting to interact with the world around her.
  • She can hold up her head pretty steadily.
  • She has hit her 8 week fussy mark, throwing sleeping strikes at night...*flash smile here* Thankfully we're over that and are now back to good sleeping at night
  • She still isn't sleeping super long stretches...4 hours, which is much better than 2 or 3 hour stretches
  • I think she's got my nose, which my dad always called the Bundschu nose, must have come from my Grandma Betty, seems fitting Zoe has it
  • She is 2 months old TODAY...February 18...already!!! (although some of those sleep strike nights, 2 months feels like forever)
  • She got her first shots this week. She was pretty brave, mom was kind of wimpy.
  • She is now starting to out grow some of her newborn cloths...*little tear*....
A few Colby facts....
  • I'm back to running and actually feeling pretty good about it, thinking that May 8th 1/2 marathon is TOTALLY doable!
  • Likes to run with the Bob stroller because it's an even better workout and I kind of feel bad *ss
  • attempts to go to the gym at 5:30am 3 times a week (why so early you may wonder...I'll soon be doing a group personal training this time and want to get in the habit of getting there this time...why am I choosing a group training this early....got me?) but so far my best is 2 times a week (and not always at 5:30am)
  • my attempt at reducing my refined sugar intake is going well (my New Year's resolution along with losing the baby weight and being a good mom), but not without some caving in to frozen yogurt and creme filled cookies
  • lost 4 lbs in one week, yahoo!
  • is a milk MACHINE!!! Thinking I may need to find someone in need of breast milk to unload some in the freezer.
A few JohnnyO facts....
  • He's more patient at putting Zoe to bed than me
  • He cooks dinner almost every night (how lucky am I!)
  • He drinks Bud Light now so we can save for Zoe's college *insert laugh here*
  • Oodles and oodles over his daughter
  • When he's holding Zoe, he's holding Zoe, very little multitasking going on like us women do (it's cute)
  • Loves to do dance party with Zoe, it quiets her almost every time (but takes kind of a lot of energy)
  • Is looking forward to spring break in March, but wondering how it will be going back to work full time with a baby at home (Colby may have to pick up some slack....like figure out how the heck to make dinner with a baby)
A few Hurley facts...
  • He finally got a hair cut...no more dreads for awhile
  • But he still has not got his nails cut, they are so long they look like they are starting to curl. John and I use cutting his nails as a barter...."if you cut his nails, I'll *insert chore here*"
  • When I go out with the stroller and Hurley, Hurley gets more attention than Zoe.
  • He gets even more attention than me or Zoe when he's IN the stroller in a store, he's a show stopper (see picture below)
  • He is super lovey with Zoe, gives her kisses, cuddles with her, recognizes she's one of his people :)
  • He gets a ton of complements on how well behaved and well trained he is (which I take as a compliment to me :)
  • His latest trick is "on the sidewalk". I use this when we're out running and I'm on the street but don't want my little 6.3 lb dog in the street with me. When I tell him "on the sidewalk" he goes bounding for the sidewalk and runs along side me 'on the sidewalk'. What a good dog!
  • He's really happy Zoe started sleeping in her crib, that means he gets to sleep in the bed again!!! Sweet!
  • He's pretty darn good at putting a smile on anyone's face.
A few pictures of our week....

I said to John, "Hold her off for a few minutes, I need to go the the bathroom." This is what I returned to....brilliant daddy.
