30 weeks

Not a whole lot to report in the last few weeks. Well, actually three things, no wait.... four.
  1. To get up out of bed, or any reclined position (including the car) there is a distinct roll to one side before it's even possible to elevate myself. Ab muscles don't really do that job anymore. Actually when I do tighten them and can see my bare belly, my belly contorts to a triangular shape, like an A frame roof because my abs have spread apart and are now on the sides of my belly, not on top of my belly.
  2. Went to the doctor last week. Zoe has a great heartbeat, which is always nice to hear. She's growing right on track. Her mommy had been growing right on track until the scale at this visit told her otherwise! I've gained 4lbs for the last 2 or 3 months, which is what they recommend. I was prepared to gain more this month, Zoe has had a big growth spurt. But I was NOT prepared for a 10lb weight gain!! I know weight gain is part of being pregnant and I really try not to be too preoccupied with it, but keep track of it at the same time. But gaining 10lbs in a month was a little hard to swallow. I really don't feel like I look like I've gained 10lbs, so it's my conclusion that the scale has lied!
  3. Each month at Masters swimming we do a 1000m swim for time. That's 20 lengths in a 50m pool. Last month my time was 16min 27sec. This month, at 7 months pregnant, I did it in 16min 03sec, 24sec faster than last month (in swimming that's kind of a lot). And I negative split it...for those of you who don't know what that is....it's when you go faster on the second half than the first. This made me feel a little better about the whole 10lbs. weight gain, at least I can still kick butt in the pool. Maybe at 8 months pregnant I'll break 16min?
  4. One more lovely aspect of being pregnant....pregnancy induced eczema! Doc says it should go away after birth, just like the lovely pregnancy mask I've been sporting. I have a couple patches on my upper belly, just under the boobs, and a patch on my lower back that itches! So many skin changes!
Exciting news in my extended family....my cousin Gabrielle and Seth had their baby girl, Mozelle on 10.10.09 We are thrilled to have a new member to our family and I know I can't wait to meet her at Thanksgiving. They are home, adjusting I'm sure to life like they've never known it.

I don't have too many pictures...but here are a few:

30 weeks...you can see a little of the eczema just under my shirt

**this video has sound, it's kind of quiet, so turn it up :)**

In case you don't have sound...the script goes like this:
"me...Zoe....Hurley on the couch, watching tv....while JohnnyO cooks dinner. And now Hurley gives me love."

I know the 10 lb thing can be weird! It'll go back to normal, though - that's one thing I realized is it can be 4,4,7,2...just depending on what that little munchkin needs!

This is hilarious. I remember at this point in the pregnancy I gained a lot at one visit and was like, WHAT??? It is so weird to look at the scale and see some enormous amount. Don't worry. Just nurse little Zoe and she'll suck away all the pounds, while you are still able to eat like a horse. It's pretty sweet. :-)

Love your blog updates. They always make me laugh!!
