Contract Renewed

On August 2nd, John and I will be married for 2 years. It's hard to believe it's only been two years, we've done so much already. We've been together for 6 years and I still get giddy thinking about the beginning.

I made John work for that first date. I wasn't sure I was ready to be serious about anyone. But John was persistent. His persistence paid off, 'cause he caught this fish :). And do you know what caught me? It wasn't that he charm me or that he wined and dined me, it was that this was the first relationship I felt like I got more than I gave. He took care of me without making me feel weak. He made me a better person. I can't believe I struck gold, but I have.

The agreement when we got married 2 years ago was that he wouldn't stop doing these things (and neither would I). We gave each other a 2 year renewable contract, not a lifetime. We were kind of kidding about that, but with some seriousness. If he wanted a renewed contract, he'd have to continue to date me (and vice versa) even though we are married. And he has. It's been a little tricker since having a baby, but I still feel like the luckiest lady to have a husband who makes me feel special and continues to date me.

Contract renewed!

We've done a lot in the 2 years we've been married, I can only be excited about the years to come. Happy anniversary (on August 2nd), I love you!

I'm just going to pretend that everyone else is just as excited about seeing a million pictures of my baby as I am....ok, maybe not a million, but there's a lot of Zoe in this blog!

double-headed dog?

Loves the swings.  She actually protested when it was time to go, a mini tantrum (this does not bode well for my future!)

Pretty sweet view from the swings, eh?

John got me a new camera for my 1/2 birthday (and Zoe's 1/2 birthday), really just an excuse to buy a nice camera (he spoils me).  Anyway, I've been having a lot of fun playing around with all the settings.
